The first day of the NZ Open LC Championships held in Auckland saw Dylan Dunlop-Barrett absolutely smash his 400m freestyle Taranaki record in a time of 3:51.27 taking almost four seconds off his 2010 time.

Congratulations to the swimmers selected to represent Taranaki at the 2011 Six Way Meet in Palmerston North on Sunday 26 June. The team will be racing against Manawatu, Wairarapa and Wellington. Hawkes Bay/Poverty Bay and Wanganui are unable to attend this year.

Congratulations to the Taranaki Six Way Meet team for bringing home two trophies. Two Taranaki records fell - Ruby Scott (10-11yrs) for her 100m backstroke in a time of 1:14.43 previously Kaitlin Haami's 2007 record and Claudia Taylor's (9/Under) 100mIM in a time of 1:27.91, previously Ashley Rupapera's 2002 record.
