2012 Taranaki Junior National Team

The Stratford Club team of six swimmers had outstanding results with the  club placing fourth from 71  participating clubs behind QEII Swim Club, Canterbury 1st,   North Shore Swimming, Auckland 2nd, and King's  Swim Club, Auckland 3rd.

Stratford swimmers won 18 medals at the meet.

Joshua Gilbert Stratford in the 10yr boys events medalled in all his ten events

Gold- 50m,   100m,  200m Breaststroke, 50m, 100m Freestyle, 50m,  100m Backstroke.

Silver- 100m Freestyle,  200m Individual Medley.

Bronze - 200m freestyle.

 

Claudia Taylor Stratford 10yr Girls.

Silver- 100m Backstroke 

Bronze – 50m, 100m, 200m Freestyle,  200M Backstroke.

 

Chris Johnson Stratford 11yr Boys

Bronze 50m,  200m Breaststroke,  200m Freestyle

Chris broke his own Taranaki Record in the 50m Breaststroke time of  39.02 previous 39.37

 

Aquabladz Taranaki swimmer Ruby Scott gained Silver in Girls 12yrs 50m freestyle, Bronze in 50m, 100, 200m backstroke and set a new Taranaki record in 100m backstroke in a time of 1:10.56, previously set in 2006  by Rebecca Johnston in at time of 2:10.75.

 

NP Aquatics swimmer Maya Dickson gained a silver medal in the girls 10yrs 200m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley.

 

Several of the 23 Taranaki swimmers gained top ten placings.
